Extreme Soccer League (XSL)

Hello,

First of all I would like to explain who I am and why I made this post.

I am an admin of a league called eXtreme Soccer League (XSL) which is a Counter Strike Source Soccer League based in Europe and was created in 2006. The populairity of this "mod" has grown since then and the league has grown to a well known competition and community.

This league plays as well as any other league which also hosts cups and public tournaments that are arranged by members of our community or of course official cups which are run by the league staff itself.

Never played CS:S soccer before?

Well here is a few tips.

* Running around chasing the ball gets you nowhere. So try finding a space on the pitch and wait for a teammate to pass to you.
* Hitting the ball can be a tough task sometimes on its own, especially if you have never played before. Easiest way of hitting the ball is aim your cursor on the centre of the ball and use your left mouse button to hit it.
* Aiming the ball is pretty simple, just point the direction you want to aim and then hit the ball. Another easy way to hit the ball is to crouch.
* You may see some players using the wall and other types of skill to hit the ball. Don't worry all that will come with time and practice. But remember its nice to be nice and have fun.

Please note: This is only a very basic description for new players.

Well that explains a little about us and a very basic description about playing, you're probably wondering why I'm here. Well I'm here to invite your clan/community to a tournament being hosted by XSL for new players only.

This is a free to join tournament as we are extremely well sponsored by a game server company called www.UK-GS.com who not only provide us with any equipment that we may need but they also do special deals for our league members.

Can i also ask a huge matter, you don't have to if you don't want to.

I have currently been running Steam Source Game Servers for over 2 years now, well my Warcraft-Source is my last surviving server. Over time my last server has been dying down i have brought it back up but i need to attract other timezone players back onto my server.

So i was wondering if you could promote us on your site, as again i do not mind if you do not want to do it as i can understand.

We don't actually have anywhere on our website for clan adverts although we do have an offtopic section which I'm sure you can make a post in. If you do decide to make the post then post it in this section by creating a new topic in this section and see if that will help you out anyway.

Would be nice to see you creating a team for our cup though

I am playing that mod again ;D

Will give those unsure of the mod what it is. We also have one of our guys making a tutorial for the 1st time players to give them idea of how to do the basic stuff.

If you manage to form a team and want some practice matches let me know and I will sort one out for you. We have a few communities like yourself interested in this cup

But public servers are freaking stupid. They never pass to you...

Another way you can play is in cap matches (practice matches with mixed teams). Down side is it is really hard to get picked at 1st because people only pick known pros/friends. But keep trying, and if your not picked stay in spec and watch how they play the game. Will help you a lot
